I’m kicking off this series with a restaurant on the South Shore: Taiyo Sushi.
For some reason, we were a little apprehensive about this restaurant. We weren’t expecting much, and it took us a long time to finally make a reservation.
The restaurant itself is cute, with screens everywhere. We were hoping they would display fish so it would feel like we were in an aquarium, as advertised, but instead, they were playing anime. The music was also quite loud, which made the atmosphere a little less relaxing than we expected.

As for the food, they have a very small selection of meat, but overall, it was better than we expected. That said, we found the all-you-can-eat option to be quite expensive considering the selection and quality of the meat. This is definitely the priciest all-you-can-eat restaurant we’ve been to so far.
Would we recommend it to a friend? No—at least not that location. They recently opened a new one downtown, and we wonder if the experience there might be different. However, after our experience, we don’t really feel like giving it another try.
